Professional fundraiser bond cost
The Attorney General of New Mexico requires professionals who solicit contributions for charitable organizations to post $25,000 professional fundraiser surety bonds.
Why this bond
New Mexico professional fundraiser bonds are put in place to ensure that principals (professional fundraisers) fully comply with the provisions listed in New Mexico Charitable Solicitations Act, 57-22 et seq. and the rules and regulations adopted there under, as well as all of the laws of the state and the rules and regulations of the
Registrar of Charitable Organizations.
If the principal fails to adhere to these terms, a claim can be filed against the bond for the repayment of harmed parties up to the full bond amount. The professional fundraiser, in turn, must reimburse the surety for any damages paid out.
Become a professional solicitor
All professional solicitors must be contracted by a charitable organization and registered with the Attorney General. Applicants must submit the following materials along with their application:
- $25,000 surety bond
- Copies of all written and verbal solicitation agreements
